The Cottage House in Afton, MN

I've been asked to sell my work on consignment at The Cottage House in Afton, MN.  I met the owner and an artisan, Gloria Popowitz and brought 14 of my summer pieces.  I'm so excited to try this new business adventure and have also met a very wonderful and talented artist!   I've been working very hard to make my 8x10 Snowman pieces for Gloria's shop!

I have two more shows left and have been very busy working in my art studio!

I'm getting ready for the July 14th Anoka Riverfest Show!  I was able to get the same spot as last year; booth 136 by the River!    I'm hoping for great weather and a fun day!  My daughter, Kelly, will be selling her jewelry and she's pretty excited!

Hot off the July Press!  4x6 Mini Vinnies

My sisters have been asking me to make smaller pieces such as 5x7 or 4x6 sizes.  So, I've finally listened to them and I'm calling these smaller creations " Mini Vinnies"    This one is 5x7.

I love the color of these pieces! 

It's the time of the year for July 4th Creations

This past weekend I attended the Afton May Fair and had my booth at the Old School House- Creative Chicks Cafe studio.  I made this 11x17 "CHICK" for Kate Sullivan and framed it!   She love it and it will hang proudly at the Old School House!  :)  I'm looking forward to doing the Afton show again in September as it will be bigger and better and fall colors all around as well!  :)

When it rains outside, it's always sunny in the studio!

I've been pretty busy in the studio today and was able to make five new creations!  I'm getting very excited for the Craftstravaganza show next Saturday on the 12th, then the following weekend the Afton Art Fair.

Making Flowers from Flowers!!!!

I'm all for RECYCLING!!!!
My daughter Kelly, gave me this bouquet of flowers and they were died daisies.  I dried and pressed each flower petal.  Then took a small piece of water color paper and cut it in a circle the size of a nickel.  Then I took each daisy petal at a time and created the flower.  Then took another daisy flower and glued it on top of that.    WOW.......I'm having so much fun making flowers out of recycled flowers!!!!!

Making Birch House Bird Houses

I've been making my birch bark bird houses for my dried garden flower creations.  It takes five stages to make them, and these are in stage 3.

2012 Mn State Fair Fine Arts Competition Submission

I'm so excited as I've once again submitted a piece to the Mn State Fair Fine Arts competition.  I've always had a passion for photography and this  piece is called:  "Mn White Baneberries"     
I won't know if I made it until early July.........I hope I do again!  :)

Another batch of Spring Creations!

Absolutely LOVE working with Birch Bark!

This past winter, I was able to collect beautiful pieces of peeling birch bark from trees in Michigan.  I've been creating all new spring pieces with incorporating the birch bark in them.
I'm also creating a line of fall baskets as well with the birch!

YIPEE AND WOOHOO Confirmation received on three shows!!!!

Triple good news for me this week! I've made it into the May 12th Craftstravaganza show at the MN State Fair Grounds and the November 17th show in Norwood Young America.
The Craftstraviganza show will be held in two buildings And the Norwood Young America show will be held in three schools with bus transporation back and forth for free.  And the Anoka RiverFest show as well!!!!!
I have one more show I'm waiting to hear back on for November.
LIFE IS GOOD!!! Now I need to get crankin' in the studio!!!!

Finnlander Custom Rods- My neighbor Dave

Meet my friend and neighbor Dave Saukkola. Dave makes beautiful hand made custom fishing rods. You can customize your rod right down to the thread colors, guides, blank and wooden handles.  He does beautiful work and my husband and I personally have several of his ice and spinning rods.   If you're interested in purchasing a custom rod by Dave, let me know!!!
