I had sooooo much fun creating this for a customer!  I love painting on canvas and plan on doing more!

My sister Pat and I have been using her vintage antique buttons to make canvas button flower bouquets.
So far they've been a big hit at the shows and for family/friends gifts.

2015 Mn State Fair Fine Arts Competition

Today I officially submitted my piece called "Jakoby's Adventures"  for the 2015 MN State Fair Fine Arts competition.   I won't know until July if I make it in.   :)

Custom Loon Creation

This custom piece took quite a while for me to design it and make it all work!
I absolutely love working with Birch Bark in my creations!

I loved this so much, that I had canvas prints made from it for gifts and to sell at shows.
Now I've done owls, loon and my next big challenge is an Eagle.

NEW COLOR PENCIL CREATION OF "Jakoby's Adventures"

I CHANGED THE DRAWING FEATURES A BIT AND I LOVE HOW IT TURNED OUT!
I thought the yellow shirt with the yellow goggles was too much "yellow"  and  felt the back ground setting needed to be changed as the focus should be on those cute goggles!  :)

Looking for possibly one more local show in Andover/Anoka/Maple Grove area

I'm excited to get back into working with color pencil again!  Here is a commissioned piece that I did and it turned out crisp and clear.  I love the color and detail that color pencils have to offer!

I haven't worked with color pencils in many years and wanted to get back into that media again.
I did this custom piece and finished it last week.  Now I'm pumped to do more creations with color pencils as I love how you can layer the colors and make it pop out at you!.

My 2013 shows so far this year have been wonderful!  I'm so glad I did the St.Cloud Lemonade Art Festival and plan on going back again next year for sure!   The show celebrated it's 40th year anniversary and it was very well organized and HUGE!  I was able to get out a walk around a bit and couldn't believe all of the beautiful hand made art that surrounded me.

The Elk River show was a new trial as well.  It went well and I met several new artisans.  I have also signed up for this show for the fall and will determine at that time if I will do the show again next year or not.

The Afton Show went well and Kate Sullivan and the Creative Chicks worked so hard to make it all happen!  We were faced with storms, power outages and strong winds, but the two day show went on and so did we!  I'm looking forward to doing the Afton Fall Fest and can't wait to get back together with more of our Creative Chicks Artisans!

The Anoka RiverFest show was another big success for me again this year!  My daughter Kelly sold many of her jewlery necklace pieces and I sold many of my 8x10 creations.  We met another new artisan "friend" and so many customers came out and my booth had constant traffic!

I submitted one on my photograph pieces again this year for the Mn State Fair Fine Arts Competition.  It's my picture of a Red Dragonfly on a fall dried Bee Balm head.  I should find out the week of July 15th if I've made it in or not.  And if not, it's always an honor to be invited back each year to submit my artwork!

New Summer 2013 Creations

GETTING READY FOR 2013!!!!!!!!!

I'm trying new Art shows this year and staying with a few past shows that seem to be a good fit for me!

I was accepted at the Elk River and St. Cloud show this year.  I've heard a lot about both of them and am excited to see how things go!

I was informed of a show by fellow Artisan, Lise Spence of Lottie's Trinkets, to apply for the Eden Prairie Lioness show.   I've sent my application in and hoping to be accepted as it's a tough show to get into!!!

The Cottage House in Afton, MN

I've been asked to sell my work on consignment at The Cottage House in Afton, MN.  I met the owner and an artisan, Gloria Popowitz and brought 14 of my summer pieces.  I'm so excited to try this new business adventure and have also met a very wonderful and talented artist!   I've been working very hard to make my 8x10 Snowman pieces for Gloria's shop!

I have two more shows left and have been very busy working in my art studio!

Hot off the July Press!  4x6 Mini Vinnies

My sisters have been asking me to make smaller pieces such as 5x7 or 4x6 sizes.  So, I've finally listened to them and I'm calling these smaller creations " Mini Vinnies"    This one is 5x7.

I love the color of these pieces!
